Saul Chudnow
Oak Park's 1968
Top Young Man

Saul S. Chudnow has been named
the Outstanding Young Man in Oak
Park for 1968.
The announcement was made by
James Newman, president of the
Oak Park Jaycees; Harold Joseph-
son, representing the Jaycees' ex-
ecutive committee; and Ronald A.
Fruitman, chairman of the selec-
tion committee.
A 34-year-old attorney, Chudnow
resides at 15041 Marlow with his
wife Sharon and three children.
Chudnow, who served as the
city's United Nations Day chair-
man for 1968, initiated the idea of
involving schools and other organi-
zations in the annual program. He
received a distinguished service
award from the City Council and
the United Nations Association in
New York for his efforts.

A charter member of the Oak
Park Jaycees, Chudnow was its
president in 1963-66. He currently
serves as its director in charge of
community service and commu-
nity development projects. He
served a year as governmental
affairs chairman for the Michi-
gan State Jaycees. Chudnow was
honored early this month by
being named a lifetime senator
to the Junior Chamber Interna-
tional, the highest honor which
can be given a Jaycee member.

Chudnow has been a delegate to
the Oak Park Council of Commu-
nity Organizations and has served
as its treasurer, for the past two
years. He is a charter member and
treasurer of the Oak Park Informa-
tion Committee, a group organized
to obtain and disseminate informa-
tion concerning the activities of the
city council, school district and
county board of supervisors.
Although his primary interest has
been city affairs, Chudnow has also
concerned himself with school dis-
trict problems. He was a member
for two years of the former citizens
advisory committee to the Oak
Park School Board and served a
year as chairman of its finance
subcommittee. He was designated
as a member of the current ad hoc
committee studying the financial
condition of the school district.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Chudnow have
been active solicitors for the Allied
Campaign for a number of years.
