Mrs. Berris received a gold heart-shaped charm bearing the "Spirit of Detroit" emblem and signifying dedicated service. More than 1,800 women from throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties gathered for the awards luncheon staged by the year-old Volunteer Award Council.
