Building has also begun on 12 student dormitories, the first stage in the overall plan for a Student and Graduate Residence Center to rise on Mt. Scopus within the near future. Each of the two- winger buildings will house 120 stu- dents, with the first scheduled for completion in 16 months and the others following at intervals of three months each. Now, a total of 800 students live in the asbestos huts built on the lower slopes of the hillside. A co- operative grocery store and a club- house round out the residential amenities. As planning and construction of the permanent campus buildings gets under way, development work is also proceeding apace. This in- cludes roads and a central-heating unit to be located near the Ratnoff Building.
