Council will sponsor the "Story of
Jewish Survival, 1944-1969," at a
youth dinner 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the
Attic. All 9th-12th graders are
invited at a nominal charge, ac-
cording to Mrs. Stanley Kaller,
chairman. Dr. Leon Rosky will be
guest speaker. For reservations,

Dr. Gary Steinman, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Morris Steinman, is man-
aging director of Ames-Yissum
Ltd., a new science-based industry,
formed by an American company
and the Hebrew University of Jeru-
salem. Ames-Yissum inaugurated
its new premises in the Givat Shaul
Industrial Quarter of Jerusalem
Jan. 16.
The •aim of the company is to
develop commercially the ideas of
the university's scientists for sale
to physicians and laboratories.
Its first product is based on a
diagnostic test for thyroid function
developed by Prof. Jack Gross of
the Hebrew University Hadassah
Medical School. The company
plans to manufacture 250,000 tests
in the first year and to reach
1,500,000 by the third year. Market-
ing on a global scale will be under-
taken by Ames, the parent com-
pany, which specializes in such
items.
Ames-Yissum Ltd. was formed
by the Ames Division of Miles
Laboratories Inc. of the U.S. and
the Yissum Research Development
Company of the Hebrew University.
Ames has been blacklisted by the
Arabs for cooperating with Israel.
