This is a plan for liquidating Israel
in two stages," Eban said, adding
that "The aim of destroying Is-
rael's Jewish personality is closely
linked with this conception."
Eban was referring to Col.
Nasser's assertion that Israel
had to cease being a Zionist state
based on religious and ethnic
exclusivity if it wanted to get
along with its Arab neighbors.
"Israel's cultural destiny and
relationship to Jewish history
will be determined by Israel, not
by Nasser," the foreign minister
said.
He said the proposal made by
Col. Nasser in the Newsweek inter-
view "utterly falsified the inter-
national policy expressed in the
Security Council resolution of 1957
. . . (which) calls on the Arab
states to make final peace with
Israel, permanently liquidating the
Palestine conflict and establishing
secure and recognized boundaries
by mutual agreement for the first
time. There is, of course, no inter-
national resolution requiring a
restoration of the June 1967, posi-
tion or situation."
Eban assailed Col. Nasser's
allegation to Newsweek that Israel
seeks to expand its borders from
"the Nile to the Euphrates." "The

Grey Line Awarded
Concession in Israel

JERUSALEM (JTA)— Grey
Line, Inc., the American tourist
bus and package tour company,
was granted a concession to op-
erate in Israel despite a pro-
longed fight against it by Israeli
tour companies and Transport
Minister Moshe Carmel.
The concession was granted by
a ministerial committee headed
by Minister of Justice Yaacov S.
Shapiro to Grey Line Inc., which
operates sightseeing buses and
tours in the United States and
several other countries.
An official of the company,
David Grant of Los Angeles, said
in a telephone interview broad-
cast by Kol Israel radio that his
company would bring some 400,-
000 tourists annually to Israel.
The concession to Grey Line
will break the virtual monopoly
of the Israeli tourist trade en-
joyed for many years by Egged,
the motorbus cooperative, and
United Tours of Israel, Ltd.
