Harman to Address Campaign Formal Dinner
The formal dinner of the 1969
Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel
Emergency Fund to be held Wed-
nesday at the Statler Hilton Hotel
will be the climax of pre-campaign
activity, Maxwell Jospey, chair-
man, stated.
"The largest number of cam-
paign and communal leaders will
get, together for this traditional
black-tie function to mark the
highlight of the pre-campaign
effort," Jospey said. "It is our

campaign."
The general campaign will begin
March 26, and Jospey said that in-
dications are that Detroit will be
able to report the largest opening
total in its 40 years of fund-raising.
Avraham Harman, president
of Hebrew University, and for-
mer Israel ambassador to the
United States, will be guest of
honor at the black-tie dinner.
Ambassador Harman served in
this country for eight years, re-
turning to Israel early last year
to head the university.
The dinner, for contributors of
$1,000 and over, is under the direc-
tion of Meyer M. Fishman, Samuel
Frankel and Barney L. Keywell,
pre-camapign chairmen, and Lewis
S. Grossman, Milton J. Miller. and
David S. Mondry, pre-campaign
vice-chairmen.
At the reception preceding the
dinner, hosts for cocktails will be

Jewish Agency Budget
Reaches $385 Million
TEL AVIV (ZINS)—The Jewish
Agency budget for the current
year has reached 1,155,000,000
Israel pounds ($385,000,000), com-
pared with 1,136,000,000 Israel
pounds ($379,000,000) last year,
Leon Dultzin, treasurer of the
Jewish Agency, disclosed here at
a press conference.
Dultzin stated further that the
Jewish people throughout the
world will be called upon to give
this year $300,000,000 to Israel. He
stressed that the new budget is
based on the assumption that m
1969, 35,000 new immigrants will
come to Israel.
