Meir Amit, managing director
of Koor Industries and Crafts,
Ltd., said that the French move
did not catch the 34-plant manu-
facturing network by surprise.
Since the Six-Day War, he noted,
wide expansion plans have been
put into effect in both the metal-
working and electronics fields by
Koor, greatly extending its local
production to meet Israel's defense
needs.
Koor, which is operated by His-
tadrut with foreign investors par-
ticipating in many of its plants,
includes the country's largest elec-
tronics industry producing military
communications equipment for lo-
cal and foreign consumption, and
Israel's major forging, tube works
and other metals factories, in ad-
dition to its only steel mill.

such permanent museum collec-

cago, the Brooklyn Museum,

ington, D,C., and Smithsonian In-
stitute.
Mrs. Broner, an instructor of

English at Wayne State University
and published writer, won second
prize in the 1968 0. Henry short
story contest. Mrs. Broner pro-
duced the play "Summer Is a For-
eign Land," published by Wayne
State University Press and staged
in 1966 at WSU. She is working on

a novel and completing another
tentatively scheduled for produc-

The community is invited to par-
ticipate in the symposium, moder-
