Foreign Students Warned
by Hebrew U: Quit Drugs
or Accept Expulsion

JERUSALEM (JTA) — The He-
brew University has declared that
it will expel any student found to
be using drugs. The statement, is- I
sued by the rector's office, was
made in the wake of a report in
the student newspaper which al-!
leged that about 1,000 university''
students were users, mainly of ha-
shish, although some took methe-
drine, LSD, and a few grew mari-
juana plants in flower-pots in their
dormitories.
The newspaper claimed that al-1
most all of the users were foreign
students and contended that there
was no drug cult among Israeli
students.

HOME-COOKED TO ORDER ...
what a beautiful sentence . . .
Trouble is not too many restau-
rants live up to what they say in
this regard . . . Definitely not so
the case with Julie's Italian-Amer-
ican eatery on W. 8 Mile Rd. in
the shopping center just east of
Lahser Rd. . . . Both Chris and
Julie Fucinari are strict adherents
to this rare trait so enjoyable by
lovers of good food . . . Also be-
coming a seemingly lost art in the
everyday living is making GOOD
Pizza and Spaghetti . . . Chris is
famous for his pizza, and that
spaghetti sauce is out of this
world . . . Also very taste tangy
are the delicious barbecued ribs ...
Julie's on W. 8 Mile Rd. is not a
one-time stop . . . Folks who eat
there go back again and again .. .
The hours are fantastic, too . .
listen to this . . . Tues., Wed. and
Thurs., 4 to 3 a.m., Fri., & Sat.,
4 til 3:30 a.m. and Sun., 4 to 1 a.m.

. . . with the menu staying the
same at all times!
RUMOR ABOUT Raleigh House
Caterers going strictly commercial
is as false as hair on Yul Bryn-
ner's head . . . Sammy Lieber-
man and his staff are very much
in the social calendar picture .. .
taking dates for weddings, bar
mitzvas and all types of parties
. . . The rumor couldn't be any
more wrong . . . weddings and bar
mitzvas are still dearest to Sam-
i my's heart!
NEW MODERNISTIC Bottle 'n
Basket opening soon in the Tel-12
Shopping Mall will be extremely
unique . . . The restaurant part
will be such that people may walk
around with paper plates and look
at all the carry-out goodies for
which Bottle 'n Basket is famed
. . . imported wines, canned deli-
cacies, etc.
MARTY HOROWITZ, bossman
of Marty's Delicatessen-Restaurant
in the Green-8 Shopping Center on
Greenfield, is shortly coming out
with something never before ex-
perienced in the circles of dining
He won't even tell his wife

Gloria what it is—and that's really
keeping a secret!
THE "KING OF SOUL," Wayne
Cochran, who breaks up audiences
(and selected pieces of nightclub
scenery) with his roaring soul-
sound, opened a two-week engage-
ment last Monday at The Moon
Supper Club . . . Cochran and his
famed C.C. Riders are appearing
for the first time in Detroit as an
acknowledged and literal "howling
success' on the Jackie Gleason
Show and top nitery spots around
the country . . . The only white
man to appear on current lists of
the "top 50 soul sounds," Cochran
I has a voice like Tarzan and the
towering blonde bouffant hairstyle
of a burlesque queen . . . He is
an ex-truck driver from Thomas-
ton Ga., who formed the C.C.
Riders in 1964 and since then has
been inducing night club audiences
to the riot point with their heart-
heavy, hard-driving music . . .
The crowds of screaming patrons
make possible his current budget
of $12,000 a year to keep his hair
in the right shape and color . .
and the $50,000 required to main-
tain his wardrobe of tight-fitting,
psychedelic - colored suits . . .
Cochran is downstairs in the Vel-
vet Cavern, while songster Gary
Haines entertains upstairs in The
Moon's Lunar Lounge . . . The
club is located on the Chrysler
Service Drive between 8 and 9
Mile Roads in Hazel Park.
