Business, Professional Unit Planned by ORT Women

A new chapter for business and
professional women is being or-
ganized by Michigan Region,
Women's American ORT.
Monthly meetings will be held in
the evening for the convenience of
members. Through its dues, the
new chapter will help support the
many vocational training schools
maintained by ORT (Organization
for Rehabilitation through Train-
ing) in 22 countries.
The only ORT school in this
country is located in New York
City. Its students, mostly immi-
grants, are offered courses in Eng-
lish language and the "needle
trades." Upon graduation, they can

be placed in jobs in the New York
garment industry.
Women interested in joining this
new chapter may call chairmen

Jewish National Fund Women
officers, workers and their guests
will celebrate a successful fund-
raising drive with a victory lunch-
eon noon Wednesday at White Hall
Community Club, Mrs. Louis
Levine, program chairman, an-
nounces a musical afternoon fea-
turing singer and instrumentalist
Tomar Levitt.
At the culmination of the fund-
raising drive for 1968-69, the
Women of JNF celebrated their
success at Temple Israel with the
announcement by chairman Mrs.
Larry Chanin that the goal of
$60,000 skyrocketed to $75,000.

Special merit awards were pre-
sented to Mrs. Meyer Cooper and
Mrs. Albert Posen for individually
raising over $5,000. Mrs. William
Levin, JNF Women president, wel-
comed the audience. The program
was presented by Mrs. Samuel
Baker, in the absence of Mrs. Pearl
Nosan. Mrs. Baker is past presi-
dent of the Auxiliary. Mrs. Morris
Adler was guest speaker, Marci
Lyn Rose, guest artist, and Mrs.
Jacob Axelrod led in the singing of
the anthems, accompanied by Mrs.
