Rohlik Gift to Provide Kosher
Dinners to Nursing Homes

Residents in local nursing homes
who until now have suffered hard-
ships in not being able to secure
strictly kosher meals will be assur-
ed, starting tonight, with one
strictly kosher meal, thanks to the
generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Sig-
mund Rohlik.
Residents in nursing homes who
had to content
themselves with
eggs, fruits,-
cheeses and fish
meals will be pro-
vided with ; the
one kosher meal
a week, on Sab-
bath eve, the
foods to be speci-
ally prepared and
packaged by a
local caterer. Rohlik
Rohlik made arrangements for

such meals with the assistance of
a rabbinic committee consisting of
Rabbis Joshua Sperka, Leizer
Levin and Chaskel Grubner and
a committee of women consisting
of Mesdames Victor Baum, Pearl
Biber and Morris Brandwine.
Having visited several of the
homes that will be serviced start-
ing tonight, Rohlik became con-
vinced that the need to assist ob-
servant Jews is urgent. He said:
"I recall as a child that my par-
ents, who were not rich, had sent
us children every Friday. to dis-
tribute Hellas to one family, fish
or meat to another. It will give
Sophie (Mrs. Rohlik) and me great
satisfaction to know that on the
Shabat some 100 people will now
have a Sabbath seuda. We hope
others will join us in extending
this project so that more people
will be made happier."
The meals planned will include
Mallas, traditional food, meat and
fish to fill the dietary needs of
those to be served. The packaged
foods will be distributed on Fri-
days, in time for the Sabbath
meal.
