the fungus Aspergillus flavus.
The study of Aspergillus flavus
and the toxin it produces has
shown that the fungus is wide-
spread in Israeli soil and on
groundnuts by the antagonistic ac-
tion of other soil fungi. A large
majority of the 1,600 isolates of
Aspergillus flavus made in Israel
are capable of producing the toxin.
Presence of the fungus thus always
constitutes a potential danger to
animals fed on groundnut meal, es-
pecially poultry.

in July 1945, after having been lib-

end of the war. He was active in
organizing immigration from Eas-

of Israel's statehood, later em-

Since 1957 he has been political
correspondent for Ha'Aretz, a
leading newspaper in Israel.

it was announced by Surrogate Ed-
ward S. Silver, general chairman
of the Greater New York Commit-
tee for State of Israel Bonds.

Silver spoke at the second per-
formance of the Bond Organiza-
