- - THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS 32-Friday, January 3, 1969 The Best of Everything By Danny Raskin AFTER TEMPO MAGAZINE had come out last week in the De- troit News with Bobby Laurel's picture on the front cover with a fine inside spread, a gent came to Apartment Lounge on W. Mc- Nichols Rd., put a $5 bill on Bobby's piano and said, "Thls is the 'fin' I borrowed from yott at the St. Regis last year. I didn't know where to find you before- now you'll never get rid of me! . ." At the Apartment last week, an- other fellow came over to Bobby and exclaimed, "I came to hear your music but I can't decide whether or not I like it!" . . . (The fellow finished his beer, smoked a cigar and went quietly back into his straight jacket!) . . . Bobby's new album, out on the M.G.M. Label, is called "Beautiful Days of My Youth" and is a delightful ear- ful . . .
