Cantor Louis Klein officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr.

ly Ave., Oak Park, Mrs. Martha

held her elbow-length bouffant

ried orchids and Stephanotis.
Mrs. Donald Lakin was her sis-
ter's matron of honor. Lynn Gor-
don, sister of the bridegroom, was
maid of honor. Bridesmaids were

Hadassah Presents
3 Myrtle Awards
NEW YORK—With more than
2,000 leaders and members of Ha-
dassah in attendance, the annual
Myrtle Wreath Awards brunch
held Wednesday, at the N.Y. Hil-
ton Hotel, featured presentation of
awards to Dr. Benjamin Mazar,
professor of history and archae-
ology at Hebrew University, Jeru-
salem; Dr. Jose M. R. Delgado.
professor of physiology, depart-
ment of psychiatry, Yale Univer-
sity School of Medicine; and Bar-
bara Watson, administrator, Bu-
reau of Security and Consular
Affairs, Department of State.
Each award recipient is being
honored for outstanding contribu-
tions in his area—Dr. Mazar for
his accomplishments as educator
and historian; Dr. Delgado for his
work in brain research; and Bar-
bara Watson for outstanding work
in social welfare.
Dr. Mazar, former president and
rector of Hebrew University and
eminent archaeologist, this sum-
mer uncovered the Herodian floor
of the court of the Second Temple
in excavations around the Temple's
southern and western wall in the
Old City of Jerusalem.
Dr. Delgado's studies of the
brain are based on methods he has
developed for implanting elec-
trodes in specific cerebral areas of
the brain, allowing for remote con-
trol, stimulation and study of be-
havior. His work has introduced
the possibility of new approaches
to the treatment of mental dis-
turbances.
Miss Watson is the first woman
and first Negro ever to hold a posi-
tion with the rank of assistant sec-
retary in the Department of State.
We dare more when striving for
superfluities than for necessities.
