LBJ Commends Bnai Brith
for Million Books to GIs

WITH THIS AD

PERMANENTS $10

WASHINGTON—President John-
son has commended Bnai Brith for
collecting and shipping more than
1,000,000 paperback books to U.S.
servicemen in Vietnam and at mili-
tary bases and veterans hospitals
in this country and abroad.
In a letter to Bnai Brith's com-

the organization for its "remark-
able efforts during the first 10
months of this year.
"This is the kind of quiet, but
essential, program which adds so
much to the quality of life for our
men in arms," Mr. Johnson wrote
Solomon Rosenbaum of Fitchburg,
Mass., who retired last month as
chairman of the commission. "You
have given them enormous pleas-
ure. They appreciate your efforts,
and so do I," the President de-
clared.
The commission's goal was 1,-
000,000 books for the year. E.
Albert Pallot of Miami is current
commission chairman.
