Gained Fame for His
Volunteer Activities

Saul Goldman, who resided here
for two years and during that time
gave his entire efforts in behalf of
the Israel Bond campaigns, died
in Denver, Colo., where he had
made his home for 30 years, on
Nov. 25.
He is survived by four sisters,
Mrs. Sam Kobaker of Detroit, Mrs
Nettie Silverstein, Flushing. Mrs.
Ruby Hoppin of Brooklyn and Mrs.
Sidney Chrein of Miami Beach.
Mr. Goldman gained community-
wide acclaim in Denver as a
"peddler of joy" among the
needy. He was a bachelor who
earned a modest living as a sales-
man of office supplies, and he gave
most of his time to a group known
as "Evil Companions" which ren-
ders services for the less fortu-
nate, especially children. He also
was active in Elks, Eagles and
Footprinters and the Hebrew Edu-
cational Alliance.
During his two-year residence
in Detroit, Mr. Goldman devoted
himself to the Israel Bond drive,
and his volunteer services assisted
in increased enrollment of workers
in behalf of the economic efforts
for Israel.
