His talk will be featured at the

standard authority on this subject.
Dr. Sachar's subsequent two-vol-
ume biographical history of Israel,
"Aliya" (1961) and "From the
Ends of the Earth" (1964), was the
subject of lengthy articles in the
American and Israeli press for
providing the first complete ac-
counts in English of the explosive
Kastner and Lavon affairs. His
essays on Jewish and Israeli life
have appeared in numerous maga-
zines and quarterlies.

Swarthmore College and Harvard
University.

Under Way in Jerusalem
JERUSALEM—Ground was bro-
ken recently for a new Pioneer
Women's community center and
nursery in the Talpiot section here.
The new center, which will be call-
ed the Mae Boyar Community
Center, is the fourth such installa-
tion built by Louis Boyar of Los
Angeles in memory of his wife.
Other Boyar centers have been
built in Beit Sh'an, Or Yehuda and
Eilat.
The new Pioneer Women Center
will include a day nursery for the
children of working mothers, meet-
ing rooms and vocational training
classes for young women. The Tal-
piot site is coincidentally the same
one on which the first Pioneer
Women project in Israel, an agri-
cultural school, was opened in 1925.
Later that original school, as well
as a subsequent mink raising farm,
were moved to safer areas of Jeru-
salem since Talpiot is extremely
close to the Jordanian border. In
the last few years, Talpiot has been
built up considerably.
