Expand Hartford Hospital
HARTFORD, Conn. (J T A) —
Work on a $13,500,000 expansion
program at Mount Sinai Hospital,
which will increase the hospital's
bed capacity from 189 to nearly
400 beds, is now under way. The
program also provides for expand-
ed and improved facilities in al-
most all of the hospital's depart-
ments.

The Saginaw Choral Society will
perform Bloch's Sacred Service
and Handel's "Judas Maccabeus"
at Temple Bnai Israel 4 p.m. Sun-
day. The choral group will be con-
ducted by Gideon Grau.

of New Temple Series
The second discussion in the New
Temple's adult education series is
scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday at the

"Youth—a Dialogue" will be con-
ducted by John Mersky, a student
at Michigan State University. The
series, "Youth Power," will con-
tinue Jan. 21 with a talk by Judge
Burton R. Shifman on "Youth and
the Law." On Feb. 18, the subject
will be "Challenge for the Public
High School," led by Roger Garve-
link, principal of West Bloomfield
High School
The series will culminate March
18 with a discussion by Dr. Walter
Ambinder, professor of education
and clinical psychology at Wayne
State University, on the subject of
"The College Scene."

Livonia Synagogue
Livonia Jewish Congregation is
the recipient of a large Star of
David, bearing the word Shalom
(Peace) for the facade of the
synagogue building.
A company donated labor and
materials for the 5-by-9-foot star,
designed by Rabbi Martin D. Gor-
don. The past president of the con-
gregation, Stan Finkelstein, made
the wooden mold for the gold-col-
ored Hebrew lettering. The polyes-
