Four Detroiters Teach at Bar-Han;
Plans Made for Dinner on Dec. 4

Nominations
The nominating committee of
Sinai Hospital board of trustees
will present eight names to the
annual meeting of the corporation.
8 p.m., Nov. 26, in the Zuckerman
auditorium.
Named for re-election to five-
year terms ending Dec. 1, 1973,
are: Louis C. Blumberg, Irwin I.
Cohn, Max M. Fisher, Morris Gar-
vett, Charles Gershenson, Charles
Grosberg, Max Osnos and Nate S.
Shapero.

Phillip Stollman, chairman of '
the board of American Friends of
Bar-Ilan University, and Joseph
Jackier, chairman of the annual
dinner committee of the Detroit
Friends of Bar-Ilan, announced
this week that a generous gift by
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Borman
will assist in the construction of a
new building for the department
of psychology.
Their announcement stated that
the new building will make pos-
sible the extension of the program
for the clinical psychology studies.
The annual dinner for Bar-Ban
will be held here at Cobo Hall,
Dec. 4. Dr. Max Jammer, presi-
dent of Bar-Han, will be the
guest
speaker.
Jackier announced that a large
committee of prominent Detroiters
has been enrolled to assure the
success of this year's dinner,
thereby continuing this commu-
nity's support for the Israel uni-
versity.
It has also been announced that
the Charles Grosberg School of
Education Building at Bar-Ban
University is nearing completion.
Four Detroiters are on the
faculty of Bar-Ilan University.
They are:
Dr. Arthur Greenfield, son of
Rabbi and , Mrs. - Eugene Green-
field, 19541 Cranbrook, physics
departMent; •Dr. Nathan Wiser,
son of Dr. and Mrs. Moses L.
Wiser, wbo are now in Israel, phy-
sics department; Dr. Gerald Kra-
kower, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs.
David J. Cohen, 18919 Cherrylawn,
chemistry department; Sidney
Neiman, son of Mrs. Henrietta
Kelman, English department and
general and American history.
A number of Detroiters are
among the close to 4,000 students
who were enrolled in the uni-
versity last month.

dinner are being taken at the Bar-
Ilan office on Wyoming or by call-
ing DI 1-0708.

Mrs. Arthur M. Snyder of Cran-
brook Dr., announces the engage-
ment of her daughter Ada A. to
Howard P. Danzig, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Danzig of Newark.
Miss Snyder is the daughter of the
late Dr. Snyder.
The bride-to-be is a senior at the
University of Michigan. Mr. Dan-
zig attended Dartmouth College
and was graduated from U. of M.'s
law school.

When Center Theater opens its
10th season with "J. B." 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, theater-goers will see an
original mask of God designed for
the New York production of "J. B."
by Ben Shahn.
The mask was donated to the
Jewish Center by Dr. Irving Bur-
ton, Detroit art collector.
Shahn's protege, James Kearns,
made three bronze castings of the
original mask. Shahn has one, the
Grippi Gallery in New York has
one and the Jewish Center now
has the third.
Masks for the Center production
are designed_ by Detroit artist
LeRoy Foster.
Curtain time Sunday is 7:30.
