Set for Next Summer

Uday Shankar Opens Curtain on Masonic Series

The legendary Uday Shankar
brings his brilliant Indian dance
company to the Scottish Rite Cathe-
dral of the Masonic Temple, 8:20
p.m., Sunday.
The Romanian Folk Ballet will
perform Oct. 25 and 26. 8:20 p.m.
A bold pageant of dance, music
and color from Mexico comes to
the Masonic Auditorium in the per-
son of the Fiesta Mexicana Com-
pany, Nov. 2.

Delegates from Detroit to the recent Odd Fellow and Rebekah
convention held in Grand Rapids were Harry Petok, accompanied by
Mrs. Petok, and Mrs. Max Ducker, accompanied by Mrs. Sam Rose.

The seventh national board conference of Women's American ORT,
held at the Steller Hilton Hotel in Cleveland this week, was attended
by 11 national board members from the Detroit area. Michael Avit-
zour, deputy-director of ORT-Israel, was introduced by Detroiter Mrs.
Daniel Siegel at the Tuesday luncheon. Representing the Michigan
Region were the president, Mrs. Bernard Colton; national vice presi-
dent, Mrs. Irvin Kurtz: national officer, Mrs. Harry Becker; and
national board members, Mesdames Max Beal, Harold Kukes, Law-
rence Levi, Henry Pariser, Jack Rubin, Nathan Schlafer, Daniel Siegel
and William Wetsman.
