Dr. Gordon to Give
Masada Lecture
Dr. Cyrus Gordon, professor of
Near Eastern studies at Brandeis
University, will give a special lec-
ture on "Masada," the archaeologi-
cal exhibition at the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts, 11 a.m. Oct. 18 in
the museum lecture hall.
There is no admission charge for
his talk, which is co-sponsored by
the Brandeis University National
Women's Committee, Greater De-
troit Chapter, and the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts.
Dr. Gordon is an archaeologist,
educator and lecturer who has pub-
lished more than 195 books and
articles on archaeology. Before
joining the Brandeis faculty, he
was professor of Assyriology and
Egyptology at Dropsie College in
Philadelphia and taught at the New
School for Social Research in New
York City.
Mrs. Harold (Estelle) Robin-
son, president of the Greater De-
troit Chapter, has appssiated the

to Present Antique
Show This Month
Oakland Hills Chapter of ORT is
planning its sixth annual antique
show for Oct. 30-31 at Cong. B'nai
Moshe.
There will be more than 20 deal-
ers from the Detroit area. Tickets
may be purchased at the door.
Chairman Mrs. Herbert Pomer-
antz is assisted by Mesdames Har-
ry Tauber, Paul Kram, Harvey
Feinberg, Jerry Stein, Sheldon
Weisberg, Robert Weinstock Shel-
don Gilbert, Bernard Sherman,
Seymour Garsoff, Jack Marcuson,

Proceeds will go toward the sup-
port of ORT's 600 vocational
