Third Season Set at Meadow Brook

slapstick comedy and sheer fan-
tasy March 13, when Jean Girau-
doux' "Amphitryon 38" opens.
"Hamlet," will open in modern
dress April 17.

Oct. 24 will mark the opening of
the third season for the John Fer-
nald Company at Oakwood Uni-
versity's Meadow Brook Theater.
The seven plays include the
world premiere of a new work by
Canadian playwright Ronald Chud-
ley, "The Second Coming of Bert."
The season opener Oct. 24 will
be George Bernard Shaw's comedy,
"The Apple Cart."
On Nov. 28, the curtain will rise
with Arthur Wing Pinero's explod-
ing family farce, "The Magis-
trate," reminiscent of last season's
"Charley's Aunt." Jan. 2 will mark
the premiere of "The Second Cora-
ing of Bert."

Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's
Journey Into Night" opens •Feb. 6.

Shaw, starts May 22.
Meadow Brook Theater welcomes

NEW YORK—To mark the 25th
anniversary of the rescue in Den-
mark of nearly 8,000 of their Jew-
ish fellow men during the Nazi
terror, Victor Borge Presents a
Special Evening With a Company
of Friends will be held Oct. 20 at
Philharmonic Hall, Lincoln Center
for the Performing Arts.
The beneficitary of this salute is
Thanks to Scandinavia, Inc., a non-
profit foundation which provides
annual scholarships to worthy can-
didates from Denmark, Finland,
Norway and Sweden, for one year
of graduate study in American
universities.

MIAMI BEACH—Cantor Joseph
Wolf of New York City will offi-
ciate at High Holy Day services
to be held at the Caribbean Hotel,
37th Street and Collins, Miami
Beach.
Caribbean owners Sam Schech-
ter and Menashe Hirsch are put-
ting the finishing touches on the
hotel's own air-conditioned syna-
gogue, and special Kosher holiday
meals will be prepared for the
return of annual guests and new
friends.

Hilton to Build
Jerusalem Hotel

NEW YORK — A contract for
a new hotel in Jerusalem, to be
called the Jerusalem Hilton,
was signed by Curt R. Strand,
president of Hilton International
Co., and by' Lt. Col John Furman,
chairman and managing diuctor
of Furman Associates Ltd., invet-
ment bankers in Tel Aviv. In sign-
ing the contract, Lt. Col. Furman
was acting on behalf of the Jeru-
salem Congress Hotel Corporation
Ltd., of which he is chairman of
the board.
The new hotel will be located
adjacent ,to Israel's major conven-
tion center in the same area as the
Israeli government offices, t h e
Knesset, the Hebrew University
'and the Jerusalem Museum. It will
be ilt on high ground, offering
amic view of the city and
a p
roundings.

In addition to 300 guest rooms,
the new hotel will have a ball-
room, restaurants, a coffee shop,
cocktail lounges, a swimming pool
and shopping arcade.
Israeli architects Jeremizky,
Margolith and Marco will be re-
sponsible for the design and plan-
ning of the hotel in collaboration
with Hilton International's depart-
ment of architecture and interior
design under the direction of Vice
President Emmanual Gran.
