The brass and walnut plaque
proclaimed "Presented to Alfred
L. Deutsch in recognition of his
position as Detroit Champion Fund-
raiser for beating my campaign
record of 1967" and was signed
"Max M. Fisher, Ex-champion",
Paul Broder, chairman of trades
and professional divisions of the
1968 campaign and president of
the Detroit Service Group, pre-
sided at the meeting and extended
his thanks to all workers.
Mechanical Trades Division
was given the traditional silver
loving cup for its percentage in-
crease of the funds raised over
1967. Kaye G. Frank, chairman
of the division, received the cup.
Merle Hafris was co-chairman of
the division which raised $2,700,-
000, almost twice as much as was
raised the preceding year.
A set of 20 Anniversary

position was presented to the cam-
paign leadership.

been named Channel 9's maestro
of rock 'n roll. The Shannon show,
to be called "The Lively Spot,"
will premiere Sept. 30, replacing
Robin Seymour's "Swingin' Time,"
Detroit's only television rock pro-
gram. "The Lively Spot" will be
seen Monday through Friday, 3:30
to 4:30 p.m.
