Two congregations joined in
honoring the distinguished Detroit
personality, Harry Cohen, on his
85th birthday last week-end. –
At Adas Shalom, Cohen conduct-
ed shaharit services and was
honored with Maftir. A congrega-
tional kiddush was given in recog-
nition of his communal services
and hundreds took occasion to con-
gratulate him.

was surprised with the gift of a
talks, specially hand-woven, made
of metallic thread.
The presentation at Shaarey
Zedek was made by Samuel
Kovan, president of the congrega-
tion, after Rabbi Irwin Groner
spoke glowingly about the services
of the recipient to the community
and especially to Cong. Shaarey
Zedek which he had served as
president. A blessing for Cohen
was chanted at the reception by
Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar.
