(?) n,struciionist Rabbinical College Appoints Dean and Faculty Members NEW YORK, N.Y. — The newly established Reconstructionist Rab- binical College, located at 2304-08 North Broad Street in Philadel- phia, will initiate its first academ- ic year in October with a roster of 17 students and a faculty of eight rabbis and scholars, it was announced by Rabbi Ira Eisen- stein, president of the Jewish Re- constructionist Foundation, spon- sor of the college. Rabbi Arthur Gilbert of New York, assistant to Rabbi Eisen- stein, has been appointed dean of the college. Rabbi Ivan Caine of Philadelphia will serve as lecturer in biblical civilization, the core curricular subject for the rabbinical students in their first year and lecturer in biblical language will be Mrs. Wil- liam Chomsky. At Temple University they will be required to take courses in biblical theology with Prof. Robert Gordis.
