She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Saltz of Hardwoods Dr., Orchard Lake. The excavations are sponsored by Dr. Nelson Glueck and the Hebrew Union College, biblical and archaeological school in Jeru- salem. She will later study Hebrew at Ulpan Etzron, also in Jerusalem. Diane is a senior at the Univer- sity of Michigan, where she is majoring in Near Eastern studies. Youth News Students Seek Help An urgent call for volunteers to aid in voter registration has been sounded by Gene Farber, 21, head of a student-organized campaign to identify thousands of unregistered voters in Detroit's 15th legislative district. "And if they've moved, chances are they must re-register so they can vote in November." Barry Bank Named Adas Shalom's Youth Education Director Barry S. Bank of Levittown, N. Y., has been engaged as direc- tor of youth education by Adas Shalom Synagogue. Bank, who was born in Newark, attended Columbia University, where he received his bachelor of science degree with a major in Jewish history and Jewish lan- guage, and received a master of Hebrew literature from the Jew- ish Theological Seminary of Amer- ica. f: Bank also has taken post-degree courses in educa- tional administra- tion at Hofstra University.
