Livonia Bank Opens
New Temporary Office

Livonia National Bank has open-
ed its fifth office in the Livonia
area, according to Elvin D. Dough-
erty, president.
The Eight Mile-Grand River
Office is a temporary trailer office
on a half-acre site at the corner of
Eight Mile and Angling. A perma-
nent office will be constructed on
the site in the early part of next
summer.
Dougherty said the new tempo-
rary office will offer banking serv-
ices such as checking, installment
and business loans and savings.
In 1969, drive-in facilities, safe de-
posit boxes and an outside deposi-
tory will be added
As part of the opening celebra-
tion, all persons who open a new
checking account of $100 or more,
or a savings account of $25 or
more, will receive a free five-piece
setting of stainless tableware.

to Head Weizmann
Institute's Dinner

Gaston E. Blom and Richard R.
Waite. Harry Levin of Cornell
wrote the foreword.

of Israel Arrives in NY

NEW YORK — Rehaveam Amir
has taken up his new post as con-
sul-general of Israel in New York
City, succeeding Michael Arnon,
who served here since 1965 and
has returned to Jerusalem. A for-
eign service veteran, Amir served
as consul-general in London from
1953-1958, was minister to Poland
from 1958-1963, and then returned
to Jerusalem as advisor on Arab
affairs to the prime minister.
Since 1965, he has been director
of the World - Zionist Organiza-
tion's department of education and
culture in the Diaspora.

Dr. JACOB GROEN, an inter-
nationally prominent specialist in
internal medicine, has been ap-
pointed extraordinary professor
at the State University in Leiden.
Dr. Groen, a Dutch-born Jew, was
chief of the internal academic
clinic of Amsterdam until 1957 and
was subsequently a professor at
the Hebrew University in Jeru-
salem.

of the Israel Bond Organization in
1951, is chairman of the board of

sident of the American Committee

of the board of American Jewish
League for Israel.
