Beverly Sue Stein became the
bride of Sherwood Eliot Friedman
in a recent evening ceremony at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Rabbis Ir-
win Groner and Benjamin Gorre-
lick officiated.
Following a Bermuda honey-
moon, the Friedmans will reside
in Chicago.
The couple's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Allan E. Stein of Huntley
Sq., Birmingham, and Mr. and
Mrs. Laurence W. Friedman of
North Park Towers, Southfield,
and the late Mrs. Irene Friedman.
The bride wore a gown of Alen-
con lace and English net with a
matching shoulder-length mantilla
and chapel-length train. She car-
ried roses and lilies of the valley.
Mrs. Lawrence Ledger, sister
of the bride, was matron of
honor. Karen Schutzinan, Mrs.
Alan Tilchen and Cindee Pallitz
were bridesmaids.
Ronald Cohen was best man,
and ushers were Lawrence Kirsch-
baum, Alan Tilchen, Marc • Arn-
koff, Edward Charlip and Steven
Robinson.

Camp Tamarack to Host
Fresh Air Society
The annual meeting of the Fresh
Air Society will be held at Camp
Tamarack in Ortonville 3 p.m. Sun-
day.
Dedication also will be held for
the Theodore and Mina Bargman
Arts and Crafts Building, the Theo-
dore and Mina Bargman Staff
Housing Complex and the Dr. Jo-
seph Grant Athletic Field.
In addition to the dedication,
directors will be elected, and visit-
ors will inspect camp facilities and

Embark on Drive
for New Members
The 25 lodges that comprise the
Metropolitan Detroit Bnai Brith
Council are honoring their newly
elected presidents with a Presi-
dent's Membership Class.
Officers and board members of
all lodges have pledged one new
member per man as a tribute to
their respective presidents.
The campaign, which has a goal
of 1,125 members to commemorate
the 125th anniversary of Bnai
Brith, is running through Sept. 30.
Council membership chairman is
Henry Edelman. Serving on the
membership cabinet are Harry
Pearson, Dan Hoffer, Max Lieber-
man, Nathan Fine, Bernard Dosie,

Mizrachi Women Vow
to Send 'at Least One
in Family' to Israel

JERUSALEM — The 400 dele-
gates to the 43rd annual conven-
tion of the Mizrachi Women's Or-
ganization of America agreed unan-
imously Tuesday that it was their
"sacred obligation" to send at
least one member of every family
in the organization to settle in
Israel. The Mizrachi Women's Or-
ganization claims over 50,000 mem-
bers in its 300 branches.
The convention was • addressed
by Dr. Zerach Wahrhaftig, minister
for religious affairs, and Mayor
Teddy Kollek of Jerusalem. The
principal address was delivered
by Deputy Prime Minister Yigal
Allon, who declared that the oc-
cupied territories would remain in
Israel's hands in the foreseeable
future. He said that to give up
the Golan Heights captured from
Syria would amount to complete
surrender to Syria. He also stressed
stressed Israel's need for the
American F-4 supersonic Phantom
jet planes as a deterrent against
future Arab attacks.

Custer School Project
in Need of Volunteers
The Detroit Section of the Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women
has issued a call for volunteers
for the Custer School Project, a
tutorial program which has been
in existence four years.
Needed are volunteers to
help as tutors, teacher's aides and
field trip assistants and drivers.
The program w a s developed
through. Dr. Arlene Schindler,
principal of Dister School, with
the purpose of helping the child
gain self-confidence and to aspire
success.
Volunteers need not have pre-
vious experience, as an in-service
training program is offered. For
further information, or to sign up
