OBITUARIES

Samuel Chavkin, an attorney
and hearing examiner for the So-
cial Security Administration, died
Tuesday at age 61.
Born in Russia, Mr. Chavkin
lived in the Detroit area for the
past seven years. He was immedi-
ate past president of Keidan
Lodge, Bnai Brith, and belonged
to Temple Israel.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley,
17144 Wildemere; four sons, Ken-
neth of Des Plaines, Ill., Dr. Rob-
ert of Fayetteville, N.Y., Robert
Cohen and Richard K. Cohen; two
daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Judy)
Primak and Mrs. Barry (Elaine)
Yaker; a brother, Ephriam, and a
sister, Mrs. Irving (Rose) Pull-
man, both of New York; and nine
grandchildren.
