Valley Home for Aged
Begins Expansion Drive

NEWARK, N.J. (JTA) — The
Daughters of Israel Pleasant Val-
ley Home has launched a cam-
paign to raise $2,000,000 to add
some 70 beds to the present 172
and thus ease a critical shortage
which has produced a lengthy
waiting list.
In announcing the campaign,
President David M. Litwin said
that in many cases, persons on the
list "die before a vacancy would
have permitted their admission."
He said the expansion program
also would provide medical nurs-
ing and social services to cover
the full range of care for the aged
and chronically sick„
