Common Market Extends
Customs _Arrangements
With Israel One More Year
BRUSSELS (JTA) The Coun-
cil of Ministers of the European
Economic Community has decided
to extend for the period of one
year the temporary reduction of
customs duties on certain items
imported from Israel by member
states. The original agreement
granted Israel certain customs ad-
vantages up to June, 1968. Israel
has been pressing for an associate
membership status in the Common
Market.
King Baodouin of Belgium, re-
ceived Ambassador Gideon Rafael,
director-general of the Israel Fore-
ign Ministry. Earlier, Rafael met
with Belgian Foreign Minister
Pierre Harmel for a discussion of
Israel's relations with the Euro-
pean communities.
