Home transportation is available on new buses. Among the programs in ses- sion two is Camp of the Arts, a daily program from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for junior high students to learn and develop creative skills. Each participant chooses subjects from areas of perform- jug arts (dramatics, dance and music) and the visual arts (sculp- ture, jewelry metalcraft, draw- ing and painting and ceramics). .:•,:: Wise Counsels An Arab child in Israel is shown being taught to "hear" and speak in front of a mirror at a Micha school for the deaf as her parents watch. Micha is one of the voluntary agencies in Israel aided, both with professional and financial help, by Malben, the Joint Distribution Committee welfare pro- gram which aids aged, ill and handicapped newcomers in Israel with United Jewish Appeal funds. Micha, which was set up in Israel in 1961, not only includes pre-school Arab youngsters, but also trains Arab teachers to work in this highly specialized field. In addition, a newly opened school for speech therapists in Tel Aviv, also aided by JDC-Malben, is helping to relieve the critical shortage of profes- sionally trained personnel in this field. There are Micha branches in TelAviv and Beersheba, and ef- forts are being made by Micha and JDC-Malben to open additional schools in Natanya and Nazareth.
