Moscow's Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin, addressing 200 members of
the New York Board of Rabbis, declared that he was overjoyed to see
so many rabbis, young and old. They were to him, he said, an indi-
cation of the vitality of Jewish life in America, whose impact is felt
throughout the world. He urged the rabbis to concentrate on their
primary obligation: teaching Tora to girls as well as boys, to women
as well as men. He invited the New York Board of Rabbis to visit him
in Moscow and to serve as a symbol of the growing peaceful relation-
ship between America and the Soviet Union.
