Sherri Ann Golumbia Murray Shiff Named
Radomer Society Honors Eskins Wife of Charles Tobias as Director of LCBC

Last Saturday night, at the Labor
Zionist Institute, Rabbi Herbert
Eskin and his wife, Goldie, were
surprised with a party given in
their honor by the Radomer Mu-
tual Society of Detroit.
Rabbi Eskin was presented with
a portrait of himself as token of
appreciation of his many services
extended to the Radomer. There
were 100 guests to greet Rabbi
Eskin, besides the entire member-
ship of the Radomer Mutual So-
ciety, an organization consisting
of survivors of the Hitler holo-
caust formerly from the City of
Radom, including Rabbi Eskin's
family.
Rabbi Eskin was born in Russia.
At the age of 9 he was brought to

the U.S. by his family who settled
in Cheyboygan, Wis. His father
was the former Rabbi Issac Eskin.
He had one brother, Harry, who
recently passed away, and he has
a sister, Mary. Rabbi Eskin's fam-
ily moved to Madison, Wis., where
he spent his youth.
He received his rabbinical train-
ing at the Tora VoDaat School in
New York. He also earned a law
degree in Cleveland.
Rabbi Eskin met his wife in
Cleveland. They w e r e married
March 6, 1949, and have three
children.
Rabb Eskin became a lifetime
friend of the Radomer in 1944-45,
when he was with the 100th In-
fantry Division in Stuttgart, Ger-
many, a captain.

Murray Shiff has been named
director of the Large City Bud-
geting Conference. it was announ-
ced by Morris Glasser, Chicago,
chairman.
Shiff has since 1966 been as-
sociate director of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation of Dallas.
The Large City Budgeting Con-
ference comprises representatives
of the 25 of the largest Jewish
Federations and Welfare Funds
in the United States. They jointly
review the programs and finances
of 16 major national and overseas
Jewish agencies.
Prior to assuming his Dallas
post, Shiff was on the staff of the
United Synagogue of America, and
Canadian director of the Jewish
Theological Seminary.
