The ceremonies constitute a "Siywn Hasefer," the completion Cleveland Rabbi Honors Memory of Isaac Paneth Rabbi Hugo H. Klein of Cleve- land, who will pay the tribute to Rabbi Isaac Paneth at the mem- orial service at the Jewish Cen- ter, Monday evening, recalled his earliest association with the de- parted Detroit religious leader. He recalled that the two had first met in Pressburg-Bratislava when they enrolled in the Yeshiva of that city that was established by Chassam Sofer. Rabbi Klein said that Rabbi Paneth's reputation as a scholar was widespread. He reviewed th late Detroit rabbi's association with synagogues in Hungary and recalled that Rabbi Paneth and his family suffered in concentration camps during, the Nazi regime. He returned to Hungary after the war for a brief stay, then left for the U. S. "He gave unstintingly of himself without expecting return or any reward," Rabbi Klen said. The children of the late Daniel and Fannie Litsky are: sons, Dr. Albert and Sidney; daughters, Mrs. Evelyn F r e e m a n, Mrs. Dorothy Fink, Mrs. Helen Victor, and Mrs. Shirley Silberman; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grand- children. The community is in- vited. Men's Club Hold Services at Home for the Aged The annual Sabbath morning service was conducted at the Home for the Aged under the sponsor- ship of the Men's Club of Shaarey Zedek recently. The service was led by Cantor Jacob Sonenklar, accompanied by Dan Froh•an and the Synagogue Choir. The prelim- inary service was led by Abraham Salzberg. After a lunch served by the Home, Ira Sonenblick, director,- expressed, on behalf of their home, his thanks for this activity. Also present were Jack Lefton, presi- dent of the Home for the Aged and Edward Fleischman, chair- man of the board of Men's Club. Bernard Breyer, president of the Men's Club thanked the Home for their continued outstanding cooperation in this activity.
