Liberia Returns Embassy
To Jerusalem; Most Countries
Represented in Tel Aviv
JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Lib-
erian government will disregard
• the refusal of most countries to
recognize Jerusalem as Israel's
Capital and will move its Embassy
from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem soon.
The Liberian ambassador, who is
dean of the diplomatic corps, re-
cently returned after seven months
at home. Liberia originally had its
mission in Jerusalem but moved
it to Tel Aviv under pressure from
the Western powers who insist
that Jerusalem, under a United
Nations decision, must be interna-
tionalized, and do not recognize
Israel's sovereignty there. Vene-
zuela, The Netherlands, some other
Western countries and a number
of African states have their lega-
tions in Jerusalem- although the
United States, Britain, France and
the Soviet Union have maintained
theirs in Tel Aviv.

Johnson 's Barnaby'
`
Do you remember Crockett John-
son's "Barnaby", best-loved comic
of the forties? If you do you're
already acquainted with Gus the
Ghost Gorgon the Talking Dog,
McSnoyd the invisible Leprechaun
with a Brooklyn accent, Barnaby
himself, pink-winged Jackeen J.
O'Malley, his self-appointed Fairy
Godfather, and all the other char-
acters that made this work a
humor classic. But if you don't
a treat awaits you, for "Barnaby"
is back in a brand-new Dover
paperback edition. The Dover edi-
tion makes available after almost
20 years 13 of Barnaby's most
famous adventures — the scrap
iron drive, the hot coffee ring,
the black-out test, and more.
Jews in China
Jews first came to China from
Persia in the year 1000, settling in
Kai Feng Fu. They assimilated,
however, and had virtually disap-
peared by the end of the 18th
century.
