The bride's Empire A-line gown was fashioned of imported English net embroidered with Alencon lace appliques. The gown was styled with a dropped Sabrina neckline, long sleeves and attached chapel train. The open Toque head piece with matching lace petal clusters held the four-tier veil of imported silk illusion. The bride carried or- chids and a cluster of Stephanotis on her confirmation Bible. Judy Jo Housman was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Janice Israel, Patti Kaufman, Mrs. Sandy Ellenstein, Alice Dick, Susan Gartenberg, sister of the bridegroom, and Elaine Rothstein. Laurie Klein was jun- ior bridesmaid. Martin Gartenberg of New York was his brother's best man. Child /Rescue Women has sent 200 retarded children to summer camp. A new project to aid "Akim," an organization for re- tarded children in Israel, was voted upon. at the last meeting. Mrs. RACHEL (AVINERY) GOLDMAN, 29, was given the Somach Sachs Memorial Award for 1968 in recegnition of her doc- toral research in the biophysics department of the Weizmann In- stitute of Science on "Preparation, Properties and Kinetic Behavior of a Membrane with Enzymic Activity." Mrs. Goldman received her MSc "with distinction" from the Hebrew University in 1963, after which she enrolled at the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute of Science. .• '''' r.
