DAVIS, an expert in international and corporate law, has been elected national vice chairman and chairman of the board :of trustees of the American Histadrut Cultural Exchange In- stitute. Justice William 0. Douglas of the U.S. Supreme Court is national chairman of the institute. Philip M. Gordis was elected treasurer, and Israel Stolarsky, associate director of the National Committee for Labor Israel, was elected associate treasurer. Davis was chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Anti-Monoply Committee, and chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Interstate and Foreign Affairs Committee. * * Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen of Romania has invited DR. MAX NUSSBAUM, in his capacity as chairman of the American section of the World Jewish Congress, to visit Romania as the guest of the Jewish community of Romania. Dr. Nussbaum will arrive in Bucharest June 25 for a week's stay. He will participate' in the program ar- ranged by the Jewish community of Bucharest over the weekend of June 28-30 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Rabbi Rosen's chief rabbinate. On Friday evening he will address the Jewish community from Rabbi Rosen's pulpit in the main synagogue. of Bucharest. Dr. Nussbaum will bring a personal message from Dr. Nahum Gold- mann, and he will officially repre- sent the World Jewish Congress at the festivities. * * * REBECCA FROHMAN has been selected as the "Michigan Piano Teacher of the Year" by the Michi- gan Music Teacer's Association and received special recognition during the sixth anual Michigan Week Youth Arts Festival at St. Joseph High School, St. Joseph, Mich. Mrs. Frohman was one of seven outstanding music teachers from various Michigan groups presented with awards. A graduate of the Detroit Conservatory of Music and a student at Bendetson Netzorg for many years, she was one of the original assistant teach- ers of the Netzorg School of Piano and served on the list of affiliated piano teachers for Wayne State University for over 15 years. Mrs. Frohman has played extensively in solo and two-piano recitals, and with chamber groups and has served as adjudicator for several seasons. In addition she has been active-in Detroit Tuesday Musicale and Detroit Music Study Club. * * Southfield life insurance man GEORGE STEINBERGER, agent of Franklin Life, 15670 West 10 Mile, will address the 41st annual meet- ing of the Million Dollar Round Table June 23-28, in San Francisco. Steinberger the 1961 National As- sociation of Life Underwriters Author of the Year, for the best article in the Life Association News, will speak on the subject of, "Life Insurance," as part of a ses- sion titled, "What Is Being Sold in the H. R. 10 Market." The Million Dollar Round Table is an interna- tional association of top life insur- ance agents who have written at least $1,000,000 in new policies during the previous year in ac- cordance with strict performance requiremnets. * * * Former Oak Park resident JEF- FREY H. TIGAY was ordained as rabbi, Sunday at the 74th annual commencement of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tigay of Elaine Ct., Rabbi Tigay is a graduate of Columbia College and has pursued graduate studies at Yale University on a fellowship of the special studies program of the seminary's Herbert H. Leh- man Instiute of Talmudic Ethics. During his seminary career , he reecived as well the Hackenberg IOW Midrash Prize and the Zubow Codes Prize for excelence in schol- arship.
