She will be accompanied by Bella Goldberg, pianist. Speaker will be Judge Nathan J. Kaufman. Friends of Farband-LZO and JNF are invited. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. In honoring Israel's 20th birth- day, all Farband-LZO branches have resolved to plant as many trees as possible in the new Far- band-LZO 20th Anniversary Wood- land in Modin, Israel, in coopera- tion with the JNF. * * 4' JNF Suggests Trees for Father The planting of trees as a tribute to father on Father's Day, June 16, is again recommended by the Jew- ish National Fund. Appropriate certificates, bearing the names of those honored (or memorialized) and the names of the donors, will be mailed to the fathers so honored, or to the rela- tives of those whose memories are being eternalized through the planting of trees. "There could be nothing more fitting on Father's Day, or at any time, for that matter," said Judge Burton R. Shifman, JNF president, "than to plant trees in honor (or in memory of) father, as an ever- lasting remembrance, crystallizing one's love and affeCtion for him. I can think of many things to give father on his day, but few things are more lasting, or more sym- bolic of life." Shifman cited the importance of trees to Israel's economy. Certificates for trees planted at $2.50 each, can now be ordered from the Jewish National Fund office, 399-0820, or through JNF tree chairmen of affiliated organi- zations. The JNF office, 22100 Greenfield, Oak Park, will be open June 16 from 10 - a.m. to 2 p.m. for the convenience of those who may want to pick up a Father's Day certificate on their way to visit with their fathers.
