The results of the survey were made public by Arthur Greenberg, chairman of the AJ Committee's Los Angeles chapter. It covered the hiring techniques of 27 leading Los Angeles companies. It found that while 10 per cent of Los An- geles' population is Jewish, as are 20 per cent of its college stu- dents, only .6 per cent of the top corporation employes are Jewish. Rev. Howard H. Flannery, as- sistant to the director of Judaeo- Christian studies at Seton Hall Uni- versity, South Orange, N.J., a Catholic institution, spoke at a special meeting of leaders of the Zionist Organization of America at- tended by more than 1,000 persons from the New York metropolitan area. He said that "the Gentile and Christian opinion in the United States . . . appears interested only in the question of bounda- ries, refugees, Holy Places - and the 'over-reaction of Israel' to her harassment . . . It is time for Christians to face the real issues of this grave situation, namely the threat of annihilation of some 2 1/2 million Jews and of a state that has been established by the international community and has been in existence for these last 20 years." Jacques Torczyner, ZOA presi- dent, condemned the UN Security Council resolution that called on Israel to rescind its reunification of Jerusalem. "These one-sided actions by the Security Council do not enhance the prestige of that organization which was not able to prevent the Six-Day War," he said.,He warned that the United Nations peace en- voy Gunnar V. Jarring's peace mis- sion "is endangered by this parti- san action." LA Survey Reveals Bias in Executive Suite Hiring E. 12 Mile Rd. at Schoenherr Chas. "Political sources" state Sapir is convinced that Premier Levi Esh- kol's candidacy to succeed himself in the forthcoming Knesset elec- tion is problematic and Sapir feels he is the natural successor. The assumption was confirmed in a report published in the "Ahdut Avoda" organ "Lamerhav," which has predicted that Yigal Alon will be offered the finance ministry. United Labor Party circles con- tend that the story presumably was approved by Sapir who has Alan's support for his aspiration to the premiership. The same "informants" stress that the aim of both Sapir and Alon apparently is to bar the way of Moshe Dayan in his effort to attain that high office.
