BALTIMORE (JTA)—The only
coffee house for teen - agers in
'Baltimore's Park Heights area,
planned and developed by 18 Jew-
ish youth groups, was opened re-
cently in the local Jewish center.
- The coffee house. named by the
youngsters "The O z y in a n d i a n
Ruins," which is being operated
and staffed by the youth organiza-
tions, is a direct result of the
JCC's newly - created extension
services department. The depart-
ment was set up to meet specific
community needs in line with the
belief of JCC officials that the
center, as a communal agency, had
responsibilities extending beyond
the confines of its building.
One of the major concerns of
the new department was to meet
the social needs of the young peo-
ple in the community by providing
them with something to do on Sat-
urday nights and a place to go.:
with the provision that it would be
their place in every sense, reflect-
ing their tastes, interests and
philosophy.
