Countess Cardelli, daughter of
Count R.enzo - Cardelli - Rinaldini,
an Italian diplomat, and Countess
Elizabeth de T'Serclaes de Kes-
sel of Belgium is grandniece of
Cardinal Aristide Rinadlini, an
aposotolic nuncio. When Israel
faced the crucial days of May
196'7, the Countess immediately
volunteered her services. She
stayed four months, during which
she worked in Kibutz Givat Bren-
ner, served as a guide for the
Israel Government Press Office
and as an interpreter for foregin
correspondents.
When Countess Cardelli returned
to Rome, she assisted the Israel
Embassy and addressed groups of
Italian business leaders and intel-
lectuals. As a founding member of
the board of the Italian-Israeli
Association, she organized a rally
at which Gen. Itzhak Rabin, for-
mer chief of staff of the Israel De-
fense Forces and now ambassador
to the United States, was guest
speaker
Countess Cardelli has coached
opera singers, and music is one of
her special interests.
