Pearson to Speak JCC Basketball Team
Reaches the Finals

of Midwest Tourney

basketball team ended its

season as runner-up in the Jewish
Welfare Board Midwest Tourna-
ment in Cincinnati. Louisville won
the tourney.
The performances by Ricky Kac-
zander, Ricky Ehrlich, Joe Ehrlich,
Jon Bayer and Marty Fischhoff en-
abled the Center squad to take the
first three games easily, before
losing a heartbreaker to Louisville
by 12 points.
In the Detroit Metropolitan Lea-
gue, the Center team finished sec-
ond to Fisher YMCA.
In the championship g a m e,
Fisher "Y" handed the center a
63-58 defeat. Jon Bayer led the
scoring with 19, while Ricky Kac-
zander added 17 points.
Others contributing to their 26-4

season's win record were Jeff Axel-
rod, Dave Bale, Neil Black, Ed Gov. Romney Proclaims

Mentzel, Larry Pollak, Ken Sahn
and Gary Wagatha. Coach was
Barry Bershad.

Youth Protest
for Soviet Jews
Slated Sunday

regular assistant to the boys at
