WHEREAS The Jewish people answered this threat to their
existence with an armed resistance that lasted over
one month and reaffirmed to the Nazi regime the
determination of these people to fight for freedom
from oppress-ion and the right to life, and
WHEREAS The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising makes clear the fact
that only through the full realization of the threat of
racial and religious prejudice, which is present in
many of today's societies, can we hope to prevent

Montreal's Man and His
World Will Open May 17

Opening May 17, through Oct. 14,
Montreal's Man and His World, is
planned for a five-month season
this year. This exposition is the
successor to the internationally-
acclaimed Expo 67, with many as-
pects making it an entirely newly
conceived world exhibition.
The national pavilions with their
striking architecture, plus other
building and facilities remaining
represent a total of more than 80
major structures constructed at a
cost of more than $250,000,000
The overall investment in con-
struction and land that Man and
His World is inheriting and putting
to use is nearly $1,000,000,000.
The exhibits of 44 nations will
be as originally presented, while
others will be entirely new and
produced by the staff of Man and
His World. Poland, not represented
at Expo last year, will exhibit for
the first time.
Missing from Montreal's Man
and His World Exposition will be
the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and
Czechoslovakian pavilions.
The United States' 20-story plas-
tic globe, will become a botannical
garden and aviary and has been
renamed "The Biosphere."
