Joel Morganroth, 14710 Rosemary, Oak Park, is among the more
than 175 delegates, alternate delegates and national officers who will
attend the eighteenth annual meeting of the Strident American Medical
Association here April 24-27. Morganroth is attending the gathering
as a representative of the University of Michigan Medical School chapter
of the association.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyers, former Detroiters of Los Angeles,
left Tuesday for a month's stay in Rome and Israel.
Yetta Drachler of Stratford Ct., Oak Park, is back from a cruise
to Nassau aboard the S.S. Bahama Star.
At the recent 50th wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs.
Armin H. Ormos of Greenfield Rd., among the out-of-town guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Sigfried Metzger and Mr. Albert Herz.

Child Rescue Women to Hold Show Tuesday

Northwest Child Rescue Women
will present a botique and antique
show 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday
at the Labor Zionist Institute.
Mrs. Max Kasoff is chairman of
the botique, and Mrs. Max Wolf,
and Mrs. Joe Levine, ticket chair-
men.
The proceeds from this 20th
anniversary fund-raising event will
go to the i-riany projects of the or-
ganization: the mentally retarded
group at the Jewish Center; camp-

Fire Damages Synagogue in Maryland; Arson Feared

WASHINGTON (JTA)—A board
of inquiry sought to determine
responsibility for the fire that rav-
aged Cong. Beth-El of Montgom-
ery County last Saturday. causing
damage estibated at least at $25,-
000. Police and fire department
officials in Bethesda said the fire
at the Conservative synagogue had
been deliberately ignited.
The question of anti-Semitism
was considered because the fire
occurred at Passover. A nearby
Methodist church made its facili-
ties available for the Sabbath Pass-
over services. The main blaze was

Detroit Socialites will celebrate
its 11th anniversary at a dance
8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Sholem Alei-
chem Institute. The dance was re-
scheduled because of the curfew
April 7.
Eric Rosenow and his Continent-
al Orchestra will provide the music
for dancing, and social mixers will
be featured. There will be refresh-
ments, and the community is in-
vited.
This organization is comprised of
