District chairman of this area, UHS Superintendent Albert Ela- zar, announced that the following educational institutions will be represented in this year's competi- tion: Advanced Hebrew Division: Aki- va Hebrew Day School and Hillel Day School; intermediate Hebrew division; United Hebrew High School; comprehensive English di- vision: Bnai Moshe Religious School, Jewish Center, Jewish Parents Institute, Temple Beth El Religious School and Temple Israel Religious School. The play, a Henry K. Martin production, has toured the state. Staged by Tom Aston, the pro- duction is done in "commedia dell arte" — a stylized form of theater that has gay colors, wild chases and grand actions. Tickets, available at any Har- vard Row merchant, are free of charge. `Robinson Crusoe' Set . for Children's Theater Akiva's New Librarian NO POINTED TOES 'Harlequin and the Lion' to Romp at Harvard Row NEW YORK — The second year of the program for a year's study in Israel for sophomore American high school students is being of- fered by the America - Israel Secondary School Program, it was announced by Dr. Mordecai S. Chertoff, director. One of the leading Israeli secondary schools, Alonei Yitzhak in the Shomron Valley about five miles from Caesarea, will again offer a full American second. year high school program augmented by special courses in the Hebrew language and Israeli studies. The curriculum offered has been ap- proved by an advisory committee of noted American educators and is supervised by the Israel Ministry of Education. The second academic year, which will begin in September, will be preceded by a six-week course in Hebrew, beginning in July, at an Ulpan in Israel. The general courses will be taught in United Hebrew Schools Festival to Celebrate Jewish Music Month The United Hebrew Schools of Detroit will observe Jewish Music Month by celebrating a music and dance festival for the students and their families 3 p.m. Sunday at Beth Aaron Syna- gogue. A program of Jewish songs and dances will be of- fered.
