daughter of the late Anne Stern.
Miss Stern is attending the
Wayne State University college of
education. Mr. Silverstein attends
the WSU college of liberal arts and
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, where he
is studying for the rabbinate.
An Aug. 7 wedding is planned.

Women who will attend the council's Mid-Atlantic 1968 District Conven-
tion in Louisville next week include Mesdames Victor Shiffman, presi-
dent; Frederick Shevin, executive vice president; M. Morton Barak, area
vice-chairman and past president; Lewis B. Daniels, district board mem-
ber; Jerome Grossman, national board member; Joseph Welt, honorary
president of International Council of Jewish Women; H. V. Kreger, na-
tional public relations committee- Arthur Stone, vice-president for fund-
raising; Joseph Klein, assistant treasurer; Max Blumberg; Saul Rosen-
blum, public relations; Harry L. Jackson; and Regene Cohane. Mrs.
Alvin Rodecker, Mrs. Herman Holinstat and Mrs. Samuel Caplan are
alternates.
Shaarey Zedek Men's Club will send a 25-member delegation to the
39th annual convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs
May 5-9 at Kiamesha Lake, N. J. Members of the delegation are Messers
and Mesdames Leonard Baron, Robert Steinberg, Saul Waldman, Abe
Katzman, Ed Fleishman, Marvin Fleishman, Abraham Satovsky, Allen
Charlip, Bernard Breyer and I. Murray Jacob. Also attending are Drs.
and Mesdames Jerry Margolis and Davis Benson.
Mrs. Emma L. Schaver, 25259 Ingleside, Southfield, 'attended the
annual meetings of the international board of governors of the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem March 27-29 in Jerusalem. During her stay in
Israel Mrs. Schaver will participate in the ground-breaking ceremonies
on Mt. Scopus for the Harry S. Truman Center for the Advancement of
Peace as well as a series of dedications under the auspices of the Ameri-
can Friends of the Hebrew University. Mrs. Schaver, a founder of
the Truman Center, is accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lazaroff,
Mr. and Mrs. I. Lazaroff and Mrs. Rita Villard of Los Anegeles,
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lazaroff and Mr. and Mrs. H. Deutch.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Priesont of Hubbell Ave. recently returned from
California where they attended the wedding of their son Michael Jaye
to Marlene Wasser of Encino. The family visited San Francisco. The
couple is living in Tarzana.
