New Jewish Journal
to Be Printed in France

PARIS (JTA) — A new Jewish
bimonthly will be published in
Strassbourgh by Grand Rabbi A.A.
Deutsch. The magazine will be
called the Jewish Tribune. Its first
issue includes an article on de
Gaulle and Israel. Rabbi Deutsch
previously published a Jewish com-
munity bulletin which the new
magazine replaces.

Norman Cottler announced this
week that the Dexter-Davison Mar-
kets on Wyoming Ave. and 10 Mile
Rd., in Oak Park expect a large
shipment of Jaffa oranges by the
end of next week.
The first boatload of the famous
Israeli oranges is expected within
a few days, and Detroit should have
them as soon as the Dexter-Davison
Markets can have them sent here,
Cottler said.
Jaffas will be made available
through all major food wholesalers,
supermarket chains and independ-
ent food stores throughout the
Eastern United States, including
Boston, New York, New Jersey,
Connecticut, Philadelphia, Cleve--
land and Chicago as well as Detroit.
Although they have been widely
known in the food markets of
Europe and Asia for more than 100
years, Jaffas have only been on the
U.S. market for the past few years,
as a result of trade arrangements
by the Israeli growers.

Rabbi Shandalov,
Moshava Director,
Tells Camp Plans

Rabbi Benjamin Shandalov, di-
rector of Camp Moshava located in
Wildrose Wis., will be a guest in
Detroit March 3, to confer with
principals of the local day schools
and to address children in the
Detroit Jewish schools on the ob-
jectives of a camp program that
combines physical and cultural
activities with religious and Zion-
ist oriented objectives.
At 2 p.m. March 3, he will
show slides of Camp Moshava ac-
tivities and will discuss plans for
1968 at Young Israel Greenfield,
15140 W. 10 Mile, Oak Park.
Applicants for the camp will be
provided with material on that oc-
casion.
Last year, 45 Detroit boys and
girls attended Camp Moshava and
the number is expected to double
this year.
Camp Moshava, located on 240
acres of hilly terrain, has split log
cabins, It has a Red Cross trained
swimming instructor and a physi-
cian on the premises.
Parents and their children are
invited to the March 3 session with
Rabbi Shandalov. Refreshments
will be served by a campers' par-
ents' committee. For additional in-
formation call DI 1-0708.

Jaffas are a completely different
variety of orange from either Navel
or the Valencia type, but combine
the best features of both varieties,
providing them with an exceptional
versatility which makes them
equally acceptable for any purpose
for which oranges may be required.
They are excellent for juice as well
as eating.
Developed many years ago by
grafting from the round seeded
orange kown as the Shamouti, the
Jaffa is a seedless sweet, tangy
orange. It is readily recognizable
because of its oval shape and
lightly pebbled skin, which typical-
ly has a deeper oranger color than
the Navel or Valencia types of
oranges.
Distribution of the Jaffas will
continue as subsequent shipments
arrive through Spring.
