Historical Record on Scopus Hospital Corrected by Reader A reader who requested that his name be given "no publicity," in- formed the Jewish News that, for the historical record, the photo- graph with Gov. Romney standing before the plaques listing Hadassah Hospital contributors was inac- curately captioned. The plaques were described as having been "put up 19 years ago to represent the chapters of Ha- dassah who had helped build the hospital, left behind when the Jor- danians occupied the Old City." However, the reader informes the Jewish News, the plaques were put up in 1939 when the Hadassah Medical Center was built on Mt. Scopus. Nineteen years ago, they were abandoned with the Jordanian takeover. In addition, the Jewish News was told, the plaques honored, not all Hadassah chapters who con- tributed, but the first 100 chapters in the United States to meet their quota of contributions. Among the first from Michigan was the Iron River Chapter in Upper Peninsula; one of its original members was the mother of The Jewish New's reader. He said that, to his know- ledge, only one member remains from the Iron River Chapter. Suburban • a a Shop Sunday a 12 to 5 ! a a a a 2 pc.
