Guest speaker will be Rabbi Har- , --sold L. Trattner, lexecutive direc- tor of the Jewish National Fund in iChicago. Aconcertof ;cantorial and popular Hebrew and Yiddish songs will be presented by Cantors Louis Klein of Cong. Rabbi Trattner Bnai Moshe and Hyman Adler of Cong. Bnai David, accompanied by pianist Bella Gold- berg. In 1954, the Bnai Brith Martyrs' Forest was launched in cooperation with the Jewish National Fund. It is made up of 19 sections, each ded- icated to one of the Jewish com- munities destroyed by the Nazis in World War IL Within the Martyrs' Forest, is a special section, the Forest of Lodges and Chapters, planted in 1964. Along the entrance archway are listed the hundreds of lodges and chapters who have participated in this project. Members, their families and friends are invited to the program at no charge. Funds raised through the city- wide campaign conducted by the 25 lodges and chapters benefit more than 15 Bnai Brith agencies and philanthropies. Dr. Arieh Plotkin Due at Reception Dr. Arieh Plotkin, former Israel Intelligence Corps Officer, will be guest speaker at the leadership reception hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Adelsberg 8:30 p.m., Jan 25 at their home, 18470 Onyx, Southfield. Dr. Plotkin, an expert on the Middle East, attended Hebrew University and London University and was the first citizen of Israel to be admitted to Princeton U n i- versity's school of public and in- ternational af- fairs. He receiv- ed his MA and PhD degrees from Princeton, where he taught in the depart- ment of politics. Born in Ger- Dr. Plotkin many, he joined the Hagana in 1937, shortly after his arrival in Palestine. He served as an officer in the intelligence corps of Israel's defense forces from its inception in 1945. He has just arrived from Israel with first- hand information of the changed Middle East scene following the Six-Day War. Dr. Plotkin has ap- peared on Voice of America broad- casts and lectured at the Univer- sities of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Nomination blanks may be ob- tained by addressing a postcard to Michigan Mothers Committee, 406 Fifth St., Traverse City, Mich. 49684. These blanks must be filled in and returned before the last day of February. A candidate may be sponsored by any recognized organization. The final selection of the Michi- gan Mother will be announced in April when she will be honored at an Awards Luncheon sponsored by the Northland Chamber of Com- merce. The 1968 Michigan Mother will then go - to New York City in May, where she will meet the 51 other state mothers.
