Miss Pageant at the Sheraton-
Cadillac Hotel. The Detroit Pag-

Jaycees.
Cheryl competed with 32 other
senior high school students in the
pageant that places emphasis on
the ideal high school senior girl.

A pretty 5' 3" brunette, Sheryl
is a member of the National Honor
Society, and National Thespian So-
ciety. She holds a Phi Beta Kappa
Junior Key, Elmira College key
and National Council of English
Teachers Writing Award. She play-
ed the lead in the school musical
"How to Succeed" and was a stu-
dent of "Skin of Our Teeth."
This week, Sheryl was chosen
district winner in the Veteran of
Foreign Wars speech contest,
"Voice of Democracy." She spoke
on "Freedom's Challenge." Her
speech will be entered in the state
finals later this month.
The daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
I. Walter Silver, 18481 Fairfield,
Sheryl's hobbies range from sculp-
ture, classical piano, singing, ball-
et and writing to swimming, tennis
and skating. She has also modeled
and has appeared in three televi-
sion dramatic performances.
Her talent in the Detroit Junior
Miss Pageant centered around the
musical comedy number, "Walk-
ing Happy."

vided at certain colleges and uni-
versities by campus chapters of
the Phi Sigma Delta fraternity.
